Giving Back Helps Both the Giver and the Receiver

IMG_7554h4hAt a time when every dollar is being pinched until it squeals, new ways can be found to help each other through these difficult economic times. Of course, if money is no object, charities everywhere are in need of donations. Many charities are straining more than ever to provide services and goods to people who cannot afford them. The number of people who cannot afford services and goods is growing in leaps and bounds.

Maybe this is is not a good time for giving money. Everyone has a tight purse string these days. There is probably not a person out there who could not go through their closets or clean out a basement and not find something someone else could use. Money is not the only thing charities are in need of. Clothes are in need everywhere, from the warmest pair of sweats, to the hippest, gently warm Coogi clothing in the closet. By donating items of clothing, food, appliances, and whatever else you might be able to muster up, you can help someone who is feeling the pinch of this economy even more than yourself.

Creative donating is happening all over the country. Maybe there is not enough money to make ends meet, yet there are so many other ways to help people. Volunteering time is a huge help to shelters and even pantries who need to organize the food for distribution. Some time taken out of a busy day to share a talent with someone who is down not only makes them feel better, but the giver may be surprised by how much they gain as well.
